VOC & MVOC
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) a very broad group of carbon-based chemicals that easily vaporize at room temperatures. VOCs are found in many products we use to build and maintain our homes. It exists not only as liquids and solids but also as vapors. Common examples of VOCs that may be present in our daily lives are paint, glue, emissions from barbecues, burning candles, stoves, and cigarettes.
Microbial volatile organic compounds (MVOCs) are a variety of compounds formed in the metabolism of fungi and bacteria. Common examples of mVocs are the odor of a dank locker room, old cheese, dirty socks, or wet dog.
